Event planning is a career that I have been passionate about since I was in high school. I am now in my final year of college and will be graduating next May with a degree in Public Relations. After graduation I want to become an event coordinator where I will be in charge of planning weddings, corporate retreats, conferences and much more.
My favorite event to plan is weddings. There is just something so magical about planning a wedding for two people who are madly in love with one another.
This past summer I got my first look into the wedding planning field. I was an assistant coordinator for a small event production business in Colorado. We did a variety of events but weddings were by far the most popular.
I absolutely loved going to work and collaborating with my clients to understand their visions and bounce ideas off each other. I worked on a variety of different themed weddings and I think that was the best part about my job. No wedding was the same. The décor was always different and that’s what made my job so unique.
Throughout the course of the summer I learned so many tips and tricks that I thought it would be a fun idea to create a blog to share what I learned with other couples planning their own wedding. It would just be rude of me not to share this information with all of you. Each week I will post a new tip or trick to help make your weddings that much better and hopefully spark some creativity in your own mind.
